Nike's Fuel Band is a cutting edge piece of technology that will revolutionize the way people go about exercise, fitness, and competition. It is a simple band that comes in multiple colors black, white ice, and black ice. Basically, you connect the Fuel Band to your smartphone which tracks your progress and activity. The battery life lasts up to 4 days which allows you to exercises without worry that your Fuel Band will die out. The Fuel Band is water resistant which allows you to shower with it and run in the rain. This however is not water proof so I wouldn't dive into a pool with it. We are trying to make this great product water proof in the labs at Nike. 1. They are very effective because they link to pictures, websites, or coupons by using the power of the smart phone. The person simply has to take a picture of the code and they are linked to the website, picture, or video. This makes the marketing process streamlined and effective. The only hurdle the marketer faces is getting the QR code to catch the person's attention.
2. A hash tag is a tag used in Facebook to discuss an event or topic. For example, #StanleyCup has been trending lately due to the Stanley cup. This allows people to communicate about the topic at hand and connect with others who are also discussing the topic. I used them to promote my blog by putting hash tags involving movies or actors into my tweets since my blog was about movie reviews and trailer reviews. An example would be #Argo or #Denzel.
3. The omni channel of marketing is the entire customer experience a company has to offer, this includes their website, Facebook, twitter, mobile apps, actual stores, and other social media like Instagram. This is how the company interacts with the costumer and sells their product to customers. An example of a company's omnichannel experience is Nike, who has multiple twitters and facebook pages which all ultimately lead to their website. They also have a wide array of mobile apps such as Nike ID which draws in the customers. Nike's omni channel revolves around drawing the customer to purchasing product of their website or their stores.
4. 140 characters is the limit on a persons tweet. This should be sufficient for marketing as the point of twitter is to be concise. As a marketer, you should be able to convey your message in a 140 characters or less. Also marketing on twitter usually involves getting the attention of the customer and directing them to a website or other page by including a link in the tweet.
5. My blog topic was movie reviews and trailer predictions. My audience was anyone who was interested in movies. I did hit the my audience because i got over 200 page views and had viewers from all over the world, including places like India, Germany, Russia, Israel, and Qatar. Looking at the things that brought people to my blog, the primary source was schoology, the other major was websites involving movies. Since I did have a global audience, I believe that I did hit my target audience.
6. QR code stands for Quick Response Code.
7. A blog would include it so that viewers can find other blogs that are related to the topic at hand. This would allow the viewer to find other blogs that are related. Also you might link to other blogs that you write, so that viewers interested can read those. Also the blog roll shows what you read and makes seem more relatable to the audience.
8. The benefit of following someone on twitter is that they might follow you back and this will expand your scope. Also, if you have followers it makes the account seem more real and personal. All in all following simply expands your audience because they might follow back.
9. Retweets help with marketing because when someone retweets you, it shows your company and product to a new set of people. Retweets help spread your message and brand faster and further than possible before. If one person retweets you, others may retweet you. All in all, retweets increase your exposure and scope.
10. Facebook can be used because Facebook often shows advertisements on the side of the page based on the persons "likes" and "interests". This allows the company to also search for potential customers with "interests" and "likes" in their specific field. For example, a company that sells basketball equipment, might look for people who have basketball as a like or interest. Also, it has been stated that "its all about Facebook now" (Patrick Deren 6/17/13 aprox 9:10 am) .
